Goldendoodles The breed was first produced to achieve a dog that was highly trainable, low shedding, and hypoallergenic to work as assistance dogs for people with allergies. This loving loyal dog quickly became popular as a great companion dog. Goldendoodles are very social and get along great with other dogs and children. Since both the Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle are Retrievers, this breed retains the retrieving instinct. Many duck hunters are choosing to work with the goldendoodle due to their low shedding qualities. The goldendoodle comes in various shades of apricot and gold, black, silver, blue, chocholate, and red. They also come in a pattern much like a doberman called Phantom and some consist of two colors and are referred to as Parti's. The goldendoodle is classified by it's generation... F1's are 50% Standard Poodle and 50% Golden Retriever. Many dogs in the first of goldendoodles shed and are not as hypo-allergenic as the F1B's. The dogs with flatter coats have a higher tendency to shed. With this generation there is about a 60% sucess rate of acheiving a hypo-allergenic non-shedding dog. F1B's are an F1 breed back to a Standard poodle, resulting in 75% poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. This is done in enhance the non-shedding and hypoallergenic qualities. F2's are an F1 breed to an F1. Some also breed an F1 to an F1B
